Born in 1930, Greek American Sam Kanelos, a Sacramento native, began his professional baseball career in 1950 when he signed a contract with the Sacramento Solons. He played professionally over the next six years, earning a place in the La Salle Club Hall of Fame.  Tonight, as we celebrate Greek Heritage Night, we are honored to have Sam and his son, Sam Jr., throw out the first Pitch.
